Still on the New Year Theme....

My son has always wondered about this flu thing. He's like, What is it that can make you miss school for an entire week?!

Just a few days ago he said one of his cronies was home with it. The next day, another friend. The school began sending home daily notices about how many children were absent with influenza, little line graphs, the works.
It was only a matter of time. There he is with a 104 temp and a dog guarding him.

So, I will post some pictures taken January second.

The first one has nothing to do with the New Year. We live near two small ports. One has a ship hospital.

For three days all the boats fly happy flags.

Here are some more.

And this is what my new zoom can do.

Okay, off to put fluids in the child.

Is he better yet? Such a handsome young man!

Sorry we've been out of it for a while. I'm working on a big project at work, hoping it's done soon so I can enjoy life again.

Take good care so you don't get the flu yourself, ok?

Thank you Pat. His fever is down a little so that is a relief. But can't go to school until it's been down for two days. Gonna be a lazy week here.

Hope you finish up the project soon and stay warm, it's cold out there. Or, well, cold out here.

Aww I hope he feels much better soon. Poor kidlet.

And I totally get the zoom-excitement. I LOVE my camera too! :) Nice pics, Kappa. :)

Give J. our best, Terrie. And oh! What a good mama you are with the fluid putting. :)

Being me and a book nut, I couldn't help but notice his bookshelf in the background. I see you've completely ruined him already! :D

And isn't it lovely how the dawg is there? Our critter people know when we need them.

Love to you all from Miss Mama and me!

XOXO

Hilary, thanks! I own an old Canon AE1 Programable, pre-auto focus. I love that thing. Now, I finally got a digital that could a lot of the same stuff. I can fiddle with the aperture, shutter speeds, iso speeds etc. Weeee....

J's fever is down. He says he's "bored" which I take as a good sign.

Virginia: Thank you and Miss Mama. Right now he infatuated with some surreal book series that he's collecting. He sits in the corner and laughs and laughs. I've yet to "get" it.

And the pup is good about keeping him warm. And when he's not around the cats do!

How much was that camera? I'm in the market now to improve upon the digital I already have. Any suggestions? Or do you get much better deals in your neck of the woods?

It's a Canon Power Shot S5 IS.

I was shocked to see that it's named the same in America. They usually change the names slightly. The price is the same too. I'm used to Canons and this was the nicest one before the price really shot up, into the thousands of dollars.

My youngest has been off school for a week with a bug, too. She usually likes getting ill (all the attention, chicken soup, etc), but this time she also got a little bored with it.

And boy, was I ready for her to go back to school!

Thanks for the camera info!

Mary: I think I could handle just my son but my husband decided to jump on the boat and claim vague distresses...oh, my feet are cold, oh my lower back hurts. And he took off as well. So glad your little one is healthy and back to school!

Jim: No problem. I hope it helps. I'm afraid I really didn't do any shopping between makers. It does take some fancy pics though.
